Why We're Here

Because we’ve lived through things no one should.
Trauma, mental health struggles, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have shaped our lives—yet our voices are often left out of the decisions that affect us.

Over four years, ATTUNE worked with hundreds of young people, aged 10 to 24, across England. Together, we asked:
What if every decision that affects young people considered trauma?

That question became a policy ask—one we’re developing with the aim of presenting it to government.

In Cornwall, we brought that idea to life through something visual and powerful. Supported by Young People Cornwall, we used art to transform pain into purpose—and made our message impossible to ignore.

Who We Are

We are young people from Cornwall who have been part of ATTUNE from the start.
We’ve lived through adversity, trauma, and mental health struggles—but we are not defined by those things.

Working alongside Young People Cornwall, we helped shape a policy ask:
To assess the trauma impact of all decisions that affect young people.

We chose to express this through art. Together, we created work that reflects our lived realities—alongside a logo and slogan that now symbolise this movement.

Our broken infinity symbol reminds decision makers:

"The choices you make can interrupt our lives. Thank you for caring enough to reconnect and reset how we approach young people and trauma."

Our designs will feature on merchandise, documents, and in future campaigns.
This is us saying:
We won’t be ignored. Nothing about us, without us.

The ATTUNE Project

ATTUNE is a Medical Research Council funded project under the Adolescence, Mental Health and the Developing Mind Programme.

The project will run from September 2021 to August 2025.
